This statue of William Gladstone stood on the Boulevard, for 50 years or more, before being moved in the 1950's, to the site pictured above (in front of the Technical School) He was moved yet again, in approximately 1979-80, to the spot he occupies to this day, on the corner of Northgate and Blakeymoor.
There are various postcards and photographs of the time he was on the Boulevard, but relatively few of the years he was outside of the 'Tech'
