The Boathouse on Queens Park Lake

This is the Boathouse (Please click on the image to expand) in Queens Park. The building still stands, though no longer used for its intended purpose. In fact it is probably 25 years or more since they last had boats for hire on the lake. Sad really, as my mates and me had a few fun afternoons on the boats, when I was in my early teens (1970 - 72). We invariably ended up in the lake, swimming and someone would always get left on the island, as a jest.
The majority of the land in the distance, on the hills, is now taken up by the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
